  1. Congrats on 3 years Captain!!! I remember reading somewhere that if you get over the 3 year blogging hump, you are more likely to continue on blogging for many years! Looking forward to seeing you around the blogosphere for many more years to come!

You reviewed 241 books in 2018?!?! Wowza! That is incredible!

  2. Happy 3rd Anniversary, Captain! I didn’t realize that we had such similar start dates for our blogging journeys.

HOLY SMOKES. YOU READ A BILLIONTY BOOKS. I mean. Wow! Not only did you read a ton, but you reviewed SO MANY!!! I don’t know how you did that. I am in awe of your skills. I hope to aspire to even 1/5 of this magical reading power.

Ooooh, I am tied for 1st with the most comments?! Well, this obviously means I need to step up my game for 2019 so I can steal the top commenter spot! Mwahahaha! Here I come! 😉

Congrats again. I cannot wait to see what 2019 brings us both. ❤

    1. I read so many books that I had to jam multiple books into single posts. Though really the number was so high because of audiobooks, short YA titles, and novellas. This year will not have as many because things will be happening that are going to take reading time away. Exciting things I think but nothing is set in stone yet.

And aye, I think ye should battle to be No. 1. I like battles. I can’t wait to see what 2019 will be like for us either. Arrr!

      1. I’m so glad that 2019 is (potentially) filled with exciting things for you!!! YAY! It doesn’t matter how many books you read, or how many posts/reviews you write. What matters is that you’re reading. 🙂

I hope you’re able to share your exciting news once things are set in stone (isn’t there a more pirate-y phrase which could be used? Carved in stone? Uh….). I will be waiting with baited breath.

And this battle? Shall be royal. 😉

      2. I will make an announcement on the blog depending on how things shake down. None of the plans are even close to solidifying. Part of making the changes are scary leaps. It will happen. I am looking and planning before I leap though. Arrr!

    1. I adored the strange SFF! It makes me think and is weird and wonderful. But I can see how those books wouldn’t be for everyone. Thanks for readin’ me posts. Hope ye enjoy whatever ye read. As for the 1000 books, well I can’t help but add every fun sounding thing to the list. I own about 400 of them. I clean the list periodically and then add more. It tends to hover around the 1000 mark. There are just so many good books! Thanks for the comment matey!

I follow 250 ish blogs so I have a lot of backlog to get through. But I don’t like missing these kinds of posts. That fact that there be so many out there and yet ye take the time to visit and read mine makes me very happy. Arrrr!

  3. My husband asked me if I’m sure you’re not a dad, because your pirate joke was totally a Dad Joke 😀

“Parley with an Author: 0” I’m so glad for this. I had a self-published author stalk me and my reviews around the internet for a year. Happy Blogiversary!

    1. Lots of landlubbers assume I be a guy because I be a pirate. Silly people! I do have some self-published work to read but no stalkers as of yet. I did have a couple who wouldn’t take no for an answer but I just didn’t respond to their requests. I will parley with at least one author this year but she be on the crew already so it should be awesome. Glad yer stalker finally jumped ship. Hope this year be awesome. Thanks for the well wishes. Glad yer husband enjoyed the joke. Hardy har har!

  4. Huge congratulations on the anniversary, Cap! Quite right to celebrate – your blog is a delight to read – quirky and opinionated, yet also intelligent and well informed:)). I also LOVE your stats. Long may your ship continue to plunder book stores and give us the lowdown on your precious cargo. And many thanks for your generous shoutout:)).

    1. I missed some comments from ye! Of course I am happy to put shoutouts for yer blog. Yer compliments make me blush. I don’t feel well-informed or even that intelligent. Many people are way way smarter then me. I certainly be quirky. I was excited by me stats too. I love being part of the blogging community and plan on being part of it for forever if possible. Here’s to a great 2019 in books! Arrr!

      1. That’s okay, Cap – you blush away… I stand by everything that I said:)). And, like you, I’m always thrilled to be able to share ideas and opinions about my favourite hobby, which when I was growing up, was defined as a solitary pasttime. And hear, hear Cap – let’s bring on barrel-loads of fabulous reads in 2019!
